Hextide
A hexagonal lights-out puzzle
Tap a cell and it changes colour — along with every neighbour it touches, in all six directions. Keep tapping until the whole board is green. That is the whole rule, and it is enough for 120 boards.
Hextide
Hextide is a hexagonal puzzle game for Android and iOS. Players solve handcrafted lights-out puzzles by changing the colours of neighbouring hexagonal cells.
Google Play Games
On Android, Hextide uses Google Play Games Services for optional Play Games features such as achievements. Google authentication is used only to connect the player to their Google Play Games profile and provide those features. Hextide does not require players to create a separate Hextide account.
What it is
- 120 hand-checked boards. Every level has a verified solution. Nothing is generated while you play, and nothing is left to luck — the board in front of you is a fixed problem with a known answer.
- A move count worth beating. The early levels hold you to it. Later ones treat it as a target, and finishing inside it earns the level its gold mark.
- Cells that break the rule. Reef, tide and ripple cells each answer differently, and one or two will not answer a tap at all. They arrive one at a time with a line of explanation rather than a tutorial to sit through.
What it isn’t
- No advertisements, no timers, no lives, no energy, no daily streak.
- No Hextide account to create. On Android, players may optionally use their Google Play Games profile for Play Games features.
- No advertising or behavioural tracking. Hextide does not use your Google account for advertising or profiling. It works on a plane.
